This project began with an intensive and thorough inspection by Resident Staff CEO “Gem” (see photo to left), who deliberately, consistently and persistently took charge of operations. His leadership, advice and companionship were indispensable in the successful completion of this project.

This Carousel Cat of 2011 tells a mysterious story while he awaits his rider so that together they may gallop off to that perfect land where every kitty has a home and every home has a kitty (and every horse too).

His heart's desire is that every critter be saved and loved in their forever home.

Carousel Cat was created by Becker as a donation to the Cat Care Society, Lakewood, Colorado.  He was inspired by her adoration for everything feline and equine. 

Tails of the Painted Cats is the exciting new fundraiser for the shelter cats at Cat Care Society in Lakewood, Colorado (5787 West 6th Ave). Many organizations across the country have done various critter art projects with great success, so Cat Care Society was inspired to try their paw at larger than life painted cats. Local cat-loving artists donate their time and talent to transform the cats into creative decorator pieces. They are fiberglass and stand about 28” tall. Some cat forms are standing, and some are sitting, all unique and original.
